Its always been the people who make the Trades Awards, and this year’s first ever live, online awards ceremony was no different. We couldn’t celebrate in the same room this year due to the Coronavirus and government restrictions on meeting indoors, but the live digital Trades Awards 2020 gave us the unique and almost magical opportunity to get to know the people behind the award categories. Over 40 finalists tuned in from their living rooms, bedrooms and boardrooms around the North East, after waiting more than six months to find out who would be crowned this year’s winners.
Over 400 people joined us for the celebrations, which were sponsored by Stewart Milne Group and jointly hosted by Pauline Fraser and Chris Harvey from STV. 14 awards were given out across the evening, with finalists and winners being joined on screen with their children, their pets, and even their Grandparents which made the night even more memorable.
Dressed to Impress
The dress code for the evening was ‘dress to impress, but anything goes’ and our finalists did just that. There were more bow ties and cocktail dresses than we could ever have hoped for, along with some incredible fancy dress outfits that helped to set the scene for the evening (note – look out for the hotdog in the highlights video).
