Events, landscapes, wildlife and Gin with Balmoral Estates

Like many clients, Balmoral Estates had lots to talk about on social media but were struggling to find the time to maximise the effectiveness of this powerful marketing tool. Therefore, they decided to pursue Mearns & Gill as their digital marketing partner in March 2021.

We began our digital marketing journey with Balmoral Estates through a digital marketing workshop which aimed to review their existing digital presence, make recommendations on what could be improved and understand the organisation’s objectives for their digital marketing.

After that, Profile Optimisation is the first key element within our core module. This included updating their core images and business descriptions across Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

One of the joys of working with Balmoral Estates has been helping promote the beautiful landscape and wildlife around Balmoral. From the stunning architecture of Balmoral Castle and its beautiful gardens to the surrounding vast open landscapes & abundant wildlife.

Social media is also the perfect platform for communicating on-going activity at Balmoral and encouraging customers to visit and enjoy one of Deeside’s premier tourist attractions. Some examples of recent posts included:

  • Opening times for the takeaway coffee pod at the Balmoral Gate Lodge
  • Re-opening to the public dates and online ticket bookings for admission to the grounds, gardens and exhibitions at Balmoral.
  • Advertising part-time and full-time staff vacancies available.
  • Ticket bookings for ‘Morning Coffee and Cake’ or ‘Afternoon Tea Experience’ and Lunch reservations at the new Balmoral Restaurant.
  • Encouraging family days out with an audio tour to guide customers through the grounds, gardens and exhibitions at Balmoral with a Kids Corgi Challenge to keep the whole family entertained.
  • Availability at Strat A’an cottage for a summer staycation in the heart of Ballater
  • How to book a two-hour Balmoral Expedition Land Rover tour

May also saw the launch of the Estate’s very own Premium Balmoral Gin, distilled with hand-picked botanicals from the nearby Ballochbuie forest.

Launched online, the Ballochbuie Gin is available to pre-order now with the first bottles being ready in June 2021. Sales from the spirit will go towards some of the running costs of Balmoral Castle Estate.

Digital marketing is a great way of ensuring any product launch reaches a wide audience. The Gin post has already reached over 30,000 people organically with a targeted paid advertisement to promote batch No. 1.
