After one very enjoyable trip to Inverness at the end of 2019, we had hoped to return in November 2020 for the second Build It Inverness, due to take place at the Kingsmills Hotel.
However, along with all the best made plans of 2020, the event could not take place. Instead, with the support of several local and national businesses, we ran Build It Inverness as a free-to-attend digital conference across two snowy mornings in January. For the first time ever, bad weather resulted in an increase in the number of attendees, not a decrease, as delegates only had to travel from their bedroom to their makeshift desk.
We have a feeling that the main reason for the great turnout was the quality of the speakers who gave us their time, and the range of topics covered in their presentations. The feedback has been very positive so far, with many references to the conference as ‘excellent CPD’, which is what we hope for. Add to that the fact that Inverness and The Highlands and Islands already have a very proactive, engaged construction community, and we had the key ingredients for a great couple of mornings.
If you missed this year’s presentations, or would like to watch them again, you can view the full recordings on the links below.
