Monthly website support is basically ongoing care and love for your website. This includes everything from regular security updates, to uptime monitoring, to bug finding (and fixing), redirects and everything (well, almost) inbetween.
Over the years we have found that keeping your site running well can cut down on redevelopment costs, user issues and downtime. Think of it like being proactive with your site, rather than simply reacting to problems as they arise. Let’s dig in and look at some of the more interesting ones.

Updates
We’re all aware how important it is to keep your phone and laptop up-to-date, and the same goes for your website and Content Management System (CMS). An important part of any CMS is updates, and the CMS we tend to use does this really well, with multiple updates a month. These can be security patches, minor fixes as well as feature updates, making the CMS even easier to use and manage.
Testing
We run a number of tools that when combined we snappily refer to as our ‘test suite’. These help us by running automatic checks daily, or when we make changes to the site. Our tools check certain pages to highlight any recent changes that may be an issue, let us know when the site is unexpectedly going slow as well as let us know of some external issues that might cause a problem, for example the https certificate expiring.
Redirect checker
This is especially useful if you’ve had a website for a while, and just replaced it with your shiny new one. The chances are the URL on some of the pages may have changed, new pages or sections added, or the URL has been reworked based on new content and/or search engine optimization (SEO) strategy. Our redirect checker allows us to monitor for pages that visitors are not finding, and quickly add a redirect so future visitors are guided to the correct spot on the site.
